SIJ is a 70 membership congregation founded by Most Rev. John Kodwo AmissahFormer Archbishop of Cape Coast, in 1964. Our charism “to incarnate the word which is God with us and make him present in the world” and our spirit is simplicity, humility and total dependence on God and our virtues Christ-like child-likeness, thoughtfulness, cheerfulness, truthfulness, gentleness and littleness.

Founding Father

John Kodwo Amissah (November 27, 1922 – September 22, 1991) was a Ghanaian prelate of the Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of Cape Coast from 1959 until his death. Born in Elmina, he was ordained to the priesthood on December 11, 1949.
